USEFUL INFORMATION

In Austria, sworn translations must bear the handwritten signature of a sworn translator and his/her official seal. Only sworn translators may use a seal to certify their translations. Sworn translators can only certify translations into the languages for which they are certified.

To verify the authenticity of a translator’s signature and seal, clients can check the official register of the Austrian courts under

Sworn translations of birth certificates, police records, diplomas, etc. are accepted as official documents by the Austrian courts, government authorities or any other official bodies. Translations used abroad may additionally need an apostille or the specific authentication required by a given country.
